How long does it take to do Palace of the Dead? ›

I think a more realistic expectation assuming: ZERO upgrades, no carry, using matched party system with randoms, would be between 4 to 7 hours. And again, iirc you only need to beat floor 50 to "clear" PotD for HoH content. The PotD story actually concludes at floor 100. 101 - 200 is completely optional.

If you're a DPS, Palace of the Dead will always be your fastest route until you hit level 61 and can do Heaven on High. The queues are far too slow for dungeons and roulettes to make meaningful bumps in your daily grind, but Palace of the Dead is usually instant.

Players will receive experience, gil, and/or Allagan Tomestones upon leaving the deep dungeon. If all party members are KO'd inside the Palace of the Dead, they will be removed from the instance and duty fails.

PotD is comprised of 200 floors, the layout of which is generated randomly upon loading into the floor.

Players will start the Palace of the Dead at level 1 regardless of their current class or job level. By defeating enemies that appear in the dungeon, players will be able to gain EXP and level their characters up to 60.

However, if you wipe at any point, then you'll lose all progress and will have to start from scratch ("realistically", from the 51st floor).

To clear all 200 floors on your own, you'll want both your arms and armor to be at their maximum level, 99. This means, unfortunately, you'll have to do a bit of grinding as the higher level your Aetherpool gear is, the less likely it is to gain a level from chests found at the beginning of the palace.

You can but it's very tedious like that and you don't need friends to do it. Use the matched party option, it's the duty finder of potd. It'll match you with 3 other people in a few minutes and you're ready to go, works just like the duty finder.

A: For Palace of the Dead, the ideal food to use is any food that has a 560 ilevel or more, as it gives the most vitality.

PotD is a pretty good way to hit 50. As are the DR's available to you. Depending on your role, running the highest level exp dungeon a number of times may be faster than PotD. Just be sure that with PotD, you are not just doing 51-60 over and over.

To unlock Palace of the Dead, you must first meet the following requirements: Reach level 17 with any Disciple of War or Magic class.

No checkpoints. After you've beaten it once in chapter 4 and killed the boss you can craft items that let you skip 25 levels (so you can jump all the way to 75 if you want), but the first time through has to be done all at once.

Once you clear Floor 50 for the first time, you unlock a "checkpoint" of sorts. Thus, you'll be able to start from either Floor 1 or Floor 51 (with or without groups). Also, PotD's story continues up to Floor 100.

I managed to solo floor 1 to 100 in Heaven-on-High (Lone Hero) in 3 hours 15 minutes.
