How do I find out my 5 digit code from last year that they want me to put in
For thepurpose of signing your electronic return, you can reuse your Self-Select PINfrom last year or create a new one to use, it doesn’t matter which option youchoose.
You createyour own Self-Select PIN. You do not register the PIN with the IRS beforefiling or need to contact the IRS to get it. The five-digit PIN can be any fivedigits except all zeros.
The PIN number was a random number that you chose last year and isnot kept in our system. Only you have access to that number. The IRS is askingfor your last year'sAdjustedGross Income (AGI)in lieu of thatPIN number.
You can use last year's AGI.The original AGI is the amount from your prior year originally filed return asaccepted by IRS. The amount can be located on:
- Form 1040 - Line 38
- Form 1040A - Line 21
- Form 1040EZ - Line 4
Do not enter a corrected amount or the amount from an amended taxreturn.
You can retrieve your filing PIN here:https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Electronic-Filing-PIN-Request

How do I find out my 5 digit code from last year that they want me to put in
If you don't remember your 5 digit PINa, you do have another option moving forward. The Self-Select PIN is a random 5-digit number that you enter as your electronic signature when e-filing your return. You can reuse your Self-Select PIN from last year or enter your AGI from last year's tax return.
For identification purposes, you need to enter either last year’s Self-Select PIN or your AGI. The IRS requires your AGI for identity verification. Please read the TurboTax Help link, listed below, to learn how to locate your AGI.

How do I find out my 5 digit code from last year that they want me to put in
You won't be able to find your 5 digit code in TurboTax as we don't store it. If you don't remember it you can use your AGI instead. Please see this TurboTax FAQ to find your AGI:https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/00/25947

Your self-select PIN from 2018 is a personal number that is not kept in our system. Only you would have access to this number. To verify your identity for e-filing, you’ll need to uselast year’s adjusted gross income (AGI).
Note: The e-filing PIN isn’t the same thing as theSelf Select PIN or the IP PIN.
